Last Lands is a 4th Edition setting, and as such it uses 4th Edition races for the most part. Some are not allowed (don’t fit) and others have been tweaked, or re-skinned.
Humans
Humans are the most prominent and populous race in the Last Lands – or at least on the continent of Halad as man has not explored much beyond that. Humans are believed to have been brought here by the One God. Belief in the One God even extends to some who are not Human.

Elves
There was a time, long ago, when the Elves thrived and ruled most of the lands under one flag. Those times have long since passed.
Eladrin
Of all the Elves, the Eladrin share the closest relationship with Humans. In fact, it is this relationship that divided their kingdom when the humans first arrived, causing the splintering off of a large minority now known as the Lost Elves.
Forest Elves
The Kingdom of Forest Elves was the lesser of two great Elven kingdoms of the past – the other being the Eladrin before the splitting off of the Lost Elves. Now, it is their kingdom that is considered the largest and perhaps most powerful. They tolerate their Eladrin cousins, as well as man, but very much despise man’s expansionist ways.
Desert Elves
These Elves are primarily made up of former members of the Eladrin kingdom, the first of whom made their way to the desert for profit as mercenaries, guides and merchants. Many came before man arrived, but after the arrival of man, many more made their way there in protest. There exists two distinctly different cultures here…
- Zu’Rakan (‘Desert Gold’)
(City Dwellers)
This culture finds comfort in their desert cities, trading away Dark Iron for great wealth and prosperity. They generally regard their cave dwelling ‘Scarab’ brothers and sisters with contempt.
- Anashara (‘Scarab’)
(Cave Dwellers)
This culture of the Desert Elves is more in tune with their Forest Elf cousins and prefer to live by the land – they make the caves and canyons of the Zayn Desert their home.
Lost Elves
Sinister and scheming cousins of the Eladrin, the term Lost Elves encompasses those who not only turned their back on the once great Elven kingdom long ago, but who despise its existence to this day.
Dwarves
The Dwarves are native inhabitants of the Last Lands. Human expansion pushed them North into the Northern Marches of Halad. Dwarven architecture can still be seen throughout the Baronies of Ruin to the South, a reminder that these were all once Dwarven owned lands.

Gnomes
The Gnomes worship a being called Avandra, who is also worshiped for her luck. It is said she was a friend of Califane. As such, Califane followers and those who worship Avandra are generally very close.
Gnomes were discovered by exploring Eladrin on the south western coast of the desert where they would eventually establish Izz Al’Dinn.
