The Last Lands is a Campaign Setting created by me (Weem) using a bottom-up approach to world design where the focus of the first game is about what is immediately visible to the players. As each game progresses, and they explore beyond the starting point, I build the world as needed. With that said, it should be apparent that this is an unfinished world – we’re still very much building it. The first campaign I am running in it, called “Dark Water” is still in progress!
The Campaign Setting information here was never intended for consumption by anyone other than the players around my table, but now that I have merged everything into this site… well, it’s here as well, and you are more than welcome to read whatever I have up at the time. Please keep in mind that this setting is intended for our personal use only, so you will see images within the campaign guide (for example) that do not belong to me. These are simply being used as visual aids to demonstrate a vision and will not ever be used commercially, or even beyond my game table.
With that said, welcome to the Last Lands 4th Edition D&D Campaign Setting!
Introduction to the Last Lands
Welcome to the Last Lands, a world veiled in a great mystery that is slowly being unraveled through exploration as well as study of events that have already occurred… A world where many forms of intelligent beings once coexisted with each other and the world around them… A world where this harmony was extinguished, and filled instead with the greed and lust for power from a new race from a far off world of its own… A world on the edge of the darkest era it will have ever seen, and what may just end up being its final times.
Depending on your faith, or belief, the Last Lands could be one of a number of things. From the place where humanity was sent to be exterminated, to a land of salvation provided as a gift for unyielding faith, and of course various possibilities in between. Some of these ideas have inspired organizations, cults and even new religions, or in some, an entire lack of faith in general.
The common Human belief however is that the One God came to their people on the Old World and offered them a second chance. They accepted, and with his help were guided to their new home… the Last Lands.
